Crews are nearing completion of Phase four of The East Campus Housing Project at Binghamton University. Currently, finishing work is underway. Overall, the project will be complete for the fall 2013 semester.

Please welcome Jared Miller to The DDS Companies. Jared will be working as a design engineer in our Civil group bringing over eight years of experience. Born and raised in Greece, Jared attended SUNY Delhi, studying mechanical design, and receiving his ADDA certification. In 2010 Jared co-founded Advocate Custom Works, a not-for-profit aimed at teaching at risk youth basic automotive maintenance and in depth automotive detailing. In his spare time, Jared is currently house hunting with his fiance, Elisa, as well as helping to plan their August 2013 wedding. Welcome to The DDS Companies Jared!

Matt Teagarden recently joined the DDS Companies as a designer in our engineering department. Matt recently graduated from RIT earning a degree in Civil Engineering Technology and a minor in Business Management. Away from work, Matt enjoys mountain biking, kayaking, and working on cars.  He also serves as an officer in a local volunteer fire department. Matt stays active in various local charities, and is a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, which is founded on the motto, "the great joy of serving others". Originally from Alfred, NY, Matt now resides in Rochester.

Michael Arlauckas to the team as a project manager in our Environmental division. He has over 20 years experience managing the implementation of site characterization, remedial design and feasibility studies at contaminated sites across the Northeast United States. Michael resides in Avon, NY, with his wife and two sons, coaching Youth Hockey and continuing his 39 years as a member of The Boy Scouts of America.

DDS Constructors:  East Campus Housing Project – Binghamton, NY  
Project Update: The fourth and final building foundation work is approx. 95% complete, Site Storm Sewer, Sanitary Sewer trunk-lines and Electric Distribution ductbanks are complete.  Remaining site underground infrastructure components including Water, Natural Gas and MTW/CW Piping are scheduled for the upcoming weeks.  Final site grading, hardscape, flatwork, site lighting and landscape work will follow.

DDS Environmental Team completes RG&E transformer clean-up project.
The DDS Environmental Team was awarded the remediation project after a transformer caught fire at the Lehigh Station Road substation in Rochester, NY. This project required removal of a 250 ton transformer as well as remediation of contaminated aggregate and water. The existing transformer foundation was demolished and reconstructed in preparation for the new transformer.   Project was completed March 2012.

Ridgeway Avenue 60 PSI Beltline Replacement Project
This project consists of installing 520 feet of pipe and includes a railroad crossing with 175 feet of 20” diameter steel casing plus a road crossing of Ridgeway Avenue at Lily Street.

East Campus Housing – Binghamton, NY

DDS Constructors recently began construction of the Phase IV East Campus Housing Project at SUNY Binghamton.  The project is the largest in the history of DDSC and includes all sitework and underground utilities required to build 4 new dormitory buildings on the SUNY campus in an area previously occupied by 3 buildings.  The project is scheduled to be complete by the Summer of 2013.

Stoney Ridge Substation – Corning, NY

A major milestone was accomplished on this project with the delivery of the 230kV/115kV transformer.  This unit will reduce the transmission line voltage to 115 kV for use on the new Corning Valley Transmission line.  This unit, which weighs nearly 500,000 lbs (250 tons) was set on a concrete pad and foundation constructed by DDS Constructors.

DDS Constructors – Sullivan Park Substation Project

The Sullivan Park Substation Project is midstream with the site preparation complete and the start of foundation work.  This project is one of two substations being constructed as part of the Corning Valley Transmission Project.

DDS Engineers Awarded MF60 Southwest Gas Main Reinforcement Project
DDS Engineers has been awarded the MF60 Southwest Gas Main Reinforcement Project for Iberdrola USA (Rochester Gas and Electric).  This project consists of the design of approximately 6 miles of 12” steel gas distribution line to reinforce capacity in the Town of Leicester.  The project also includes the design of improvements to the Greigsville Gate Station  and replacement of of a short section of main in Geneseo, NY.  The design will be completed by the spring of 2011 – construction is scheduled to being in mid 2011.

DDS Utilities Awarded Jefferson Avenue Gas Main Replacement
DDS Utilities has been awarded the Jefferson Avenue Gas Main Replacement Project in Perinton, NY.  This project consists of the construction of parallel main replacements on both side of the street to address conflicts with proposed drainage facilities to be installed as part of the future street reconstruction project.  This work is scheduled to be complete in the spring of 2011.

Unity Health – Greece NY



The Unity Health Modernization Project has been progressing at a fast pace all summer.  DDSC has completed the mass earthwork, storm detention facility and the majority of the parking lot expansions.  Our remaining work this fall consists of loop road construction and underground utility work.

The majority of the site improvements will be completed this year, while the overall project continues into 2014.

DDS Constructors awarded  The Preserve at Wood Creek
DDSC has been awarded the site contract for The Preserve at Wood Creek in Webster, NY.  This project consists of a 100 unit apartment complex and clubhouse.  Our work consists of clearing, mass earthwork, underground utility construction, and roadway construction.  The project is scheduled to be completed in 2011.

DDS Utilities Awarded 24” Gas Transmission Line Replacement in Rochester
DDSU has been awarded a 24” transmission main replacement in Henrietta, NY.  This section of main has a history of corrosion issues and has been damaged by previous land development activities.  This work should completed by September 2010.

DDS Constructors Awarded Stoney Ridge and Sullivan Park Substation Projects
DDSC has been awarded the site development contracts for the Stoney Point and Sullivan Park Substation projects in Corning, NY.  These projects consist of the construction of two new electrical substations to support the 9.2 mile Corning Valley Transmission Project.  This 115 KVA line will help meet the growing demand in the Corning area.

DDS Constructors Awarded Site Improvements Project at Unity Health – Greece, NY
DDSC has been awarded the Site Improvements Contract at Unity Hospital in Greece, NY.  This project includes the construction of new parking lots, ponds, underground utilities, and loop roads on the site.  The modernization project, which is estimated at $158 Million, is scheduled to be complete in 2014.

DDS Engineers Awarded Term Contract for Gas Engineering Services
DDSE has been awarded two term contracts for gas main and service design in the Rochester Gas and Electric Service area.  This work is the result of Iberdrola’s new outsourcing strategy for these services, and has a high potential for future growth.   Work has already begun on the design of 37 gas main replacement projects and hundreds of commercial and residential gas services.  President Sean Donohoe commented “These contracts are extremely gratifying, and we believe the combination of our design skills and construction knowledge was the major differentiator that won the project.  We are excited to strengthen our company-wide relationship with Iberdrola in the energy business”.

DDS Utilities Begins Work in the Geneva Region of NYSEG

DDS Utilities has begun gas construction work in the Geneva Region of NYSEG.  This Region is a new service area for the company, and includes distribution systems from the Village of Lyons southward to Geneva and Canandaigua.  Typical projects include gas main replacements and extensions, gas service replacements, and new subdivisions (URD).

DDS Utilities Awarded Three Year Contract Extension with Energy East
DDS Utilities, Inc. (DDSU) is pleased to announce the extension of their Gas Construction term contracts with Energy East for an additional 3 years.  In addition,  DDSU has been awarded the term contract for gas construction work in the Geneva NYSEG territory.   “We appreciate Energy East’s confidence in our organization, and we are excited to extend our service area once again.” said DDS President Sean Donohoe.

DDS Utilities Inc. is Energy East’s largest Gas Pipeline Contractor, providing gas construction services for Rochester Gas & Electric and NYSEG in Western, Central, and Southern New York.

DDS Constructors has been awarded the site work contract for Alexander Park in the City of Rochester.
This project, owned by Buckingham Properties, consists of the construction of 2 new medical office buildings on the former Genesee Hospital site.    The project has begun and is scheduled to be complete in late 2010.

Walmart Supercenter in Cortland, NY

DDS Constructors has been awarded and begun work on a new Walmart Supercenter in Cortland, NY.  The scope includes all site work for the new 200,000 SF building as well as highway improvements on NYS Route 13.  The project is scheduled for completion in mid 2010.
